Healthwatch Champion

We are inviting applications for the role of Healthwatch Champion

  • Hours: 15 hours per week, flexible work days
  • Salary: £25,654.00 per annum pro rata, plus 4% employer’s pension contribution, pay review pending
  • Location: Based at our Newton Abbot office, travel within Devon may be required
  • Contract: Fixed Term to 31 March, 2025 with extension dependent on funding
  • Report to: Supervisor

We are pleased to be recruiting a part-time Healthwatch Champion.  Working as part of our Devon-wide health advice team, the project worker will provide specialist advice and support to clients facing issues with health or social care providers, taking referrals from the Contact Centre and other sources.  There will be a focus on raising awareness of Healthwatch within the local office and the local community. Actively approaching and engaging with statutory and non-statutory healthcare providers and other community groups, the post holder will identify and feedback trends and issues in health care to the wider Healthwatch team.

On the job support is provided by the Healthwatch Champion Coordinator, and the Healthwatch Project Manager.

Children’s Centres Specialist Adviser

We are inviting applications for the role of Children’s Centres Specialist Adviser

  • Hours: 15 hours per week
  • Working with local Children’s Centres in East and Mid Devon
  • Salary range: £26,423 to £28,032 per annum pro rata, plus 4% employer’s pension contribution
  • 28 days holidays pro rata including bank holidays
  • Location: Based at: Citizens Advice Teignbridge with some travel required throughout designated area. Home working possible.
  • Contract: to March 31, 2025 with possible extension dependent on funding
  • Report to: Legal Services Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive adviser to work with families referred by Action for Children. The successful candidate will be an experienced Citizens Advice adviser or equivalent. You will need to be organised and proactive, with good IT literacy and excellent communication skills. Access to your own transport is essential.

If appointed you will work with Children’s Centre staff to provide targeted Early Help support for families with children aged eight years and under, particularly around income maximisation and financial management. The ability to work effectively with clients, referrers and third party agencies is essential.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
